I'm with you Romey, especially on your 1st reason (Another Night For Football). Plus a lot of my friends who are football fans, can't even see the game because they don't get NFL TV. Why dont' the NFL just have ESPN or TNT televise the game (as you recommended) to get greater coverage?

It's the twitter thing thats upset me. Facebook is also not working too if you have any of their advanced security enabled it seems. Very sad. Loved it, told others about it.

Surprises? no grocery bags at check out, cars are so few and gas is so high, people are so friendly and so laid back, meat as a main course is much less common, family is more important than money, bicycles are not recreation but a necessity, Scandinavian moms nap their children outside in their strollers no matter how cold the weather, grandparents are honored as family elders and are responsible for teaching their grandchildren history of the family and culture, getting drunk is frowned upon, education is the most important achievement in life, most societies don't tear down old buildings--they restore and cherish them, dogs are allowed in fancy restaurants and grocery stores, people buy their groceries daily instead of weekly, children are loved disciplined by all relatives and friends--whomever is closest at the time, "Happiness" is a relative term based on needs more than wants, the American standard of living and attitude is so foreign to their way of thinking, most societies are content with whatever they have instead of always wanting more, On and on and on. . .

Hey how would you know if the water is on par with Texas water ;-) The water you were drink here was all filtered unless you smuggled some from the sink in the "toilet". That is pretty rancid about the men's bathroom. PS I really like the title of this blog entry.

I guess I'm the one person who liked this. Ok. In my experience, fake hippies are very open minded; to the things that they already believe or things that they perceive to be cool or anti-establishment.
They are not open to ANYTHING that goes against what they claim to believe. At anything that might be seen as domesticated, oldish, old way, conservative, you get the idea; they would step on a baby to run and yell some moronic statement that they read on a bumper sticker.
Fake hippies are incapable of original thought. Proof. Their whole culture is ripped off from a different era and different people. True hippies are my parents age, in their 60s, and their formation stems from the events that led up to the 1960's and were exclusive to them.
The hippies didn't call themselves Beats. A group of little children that loves to hate and hates to think. They hated Bush enough to go to Columbia University and cheer for Ahmadinejad because he too hates America. That's smart! Honestly, they are mental children who wouldn't even read far enough down this comment to get this far. In closing: WHAT A BUNCH OF DOUCHEBAGS.

I will agree, that sounds pretty lame. Although, I can't feel much sympathy on the part of the hippies smoking weed near you. You went to see JBT, there is going to be a substantial amount of pot smoking going down wherever bandmembers have dreadlocks. Just as people will smoke cigarettes, they will also smoke joints.

I always focus on each part of the song and practice until I can play each one precisely how I want to (or how it goes on covers). Once I have them mapped out I play the song in it's entirety over and over until I have it memorized completely in order and completely correct. Usually I can master a song in an hour (more if it is very technical instrumentally). Repetition and making myself play with the record so much really allow me to feel the next part coming.

I saw David Allan Coe at the Georgia Theater in Athens once. I can't remember who opened up for him, but the dude was drunk as a skunk and kept forgetting the words to well-known covers. Finally, he gave up and just played his fiddle, which was actually pretty good. When DAC arrived on the scene, he was wearing a long purple coat and kept talking about how he was an outlaw. He relied on us to sing the choruses of EVERY song. Not only was the concert pretty bad, but the crowd was awful and my friends and I kept getting groped, which we didn't tell our boyfriends because a barfight would have just been the nasty, nasty topper to a bad evening.

I'd do a top ten list, but almost every slot would be filled with a Rush concert.

I came here via your post for yesterday's NaBloWriMo, and I'm not sure how I'd rank the concerts I've seen EXCEPT for The Allman Bros at Pointfest in Tampa, Florida. It was NUTS.
